Tissue culture laboratory
Small quantities of high quality pathogen-free in-vitro potato plantlets are obtained on a regular basis from the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa for the further multiplication of plantlets. Plantlets are cloned in our laboratory growth chambers under strictly controlled conditions and samples tested on a regular basis at the Coen Bezuidenhout Seed Testing Centre near Pretoria. The Centre is the accredited controlling laboratory of the Independent Certification Council for Seed Potatoes and provides confirmation of the non-bacterial and virus-free status of the plants grown.
Choice of planting materials
Potato Seed Production supplies only high quality, early generation seed potatoes. These are produced only under the most rigidly controlled conditions and delivered either as in-vitro plantlets or early generation greenhouse planting material (G0), G1, G2, G3 tubers.
